HISTORY OF THE H.S.O.
The HSO was officially recognized by New York Telephone as an employee resource group (ERG) in 1988. The organization was founded and begun by Carmen Rivera and a group of telephone company employees who were proud to be part of the expanding Hispanic employee base and U.S. population.
The HSO has pledged to support Verizon in making it a leader in the communications industry and making a significant contribution to its diversity mix.
The HSO is a recognized 501 c3 and Verizon employee resource group with a three-pronged goal of advancing our company, developing and advancing Hispanic employees, improving the communities we live in.
