The Hispanic Support Organization of New York (HSO-NY) is a primarily Hispanic employee resource group within Verizon. We are dedicated to every aspect of our members’ personal and professional excellence. We work to foster unity and improve relationships between our membership and all employees. We identify, promote, and support activities that allow us to reach out and contribute to the communities served by Verizon.

In 2010 the HSO-NY Carmen Rivera Scholarship Fund awarded three outstanding college-bound students with $9,000 in scholarships. Since its inception, the HSO-NY Scholarship Fund has awarded nearly $140,000 in scholarships to 33 extraordinary Hispanic college students from New York State.

This year, we will award at least three (3) qualified and deserving Hispanic students who are residents of the States of New York or New Jersey and either high school seniors or college freshmen, with a one-time scholarship in the amount of at least twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500).
